Calculus Question on Continuity, calculus homework help

I am not very comfortable with finding limits of functions, but how would finding continuity be different?

From my understanding, functions that have continuity have limits that continue from both sides, meaning the limit is equal coming from the left or right.

So limits with discontinuity don’t have the same limits coming from the left and right?

Am I understanding this correctly?

Please correct me if I’m wrong and help me evaluate the limit on this equation.
