Mathematic Universe

“God’s word of sustaining power lies behind every human attempt to mathematically express the order, power, and beauty of the universe.” (Nickel)  The perception of Deists is that God set up the universe to run like a machine, without the need of His help. This “machine” can be mathematically described and understood. In response to that, what does this quote imply?
